Behind the scenes, this latest venture in Web3 education is equipped with years of research and scientific studies. Danielius Stasiulis, one of the co-founders of BitDegree, elaborates on the matter:
We’ve always been big on modern methods of learning Web3. At BitDegree, we are constantly trying to be a few steps ahead of the curve, and instead of chasing trends, be the trendsetters ourselves. The Web3 Exam is just like that – a modern, science-driven approach to Web3 education. Years of research went into developing it, and we’re very proud of the result.
The “years of research” referenced by Stasiulis include high-profile global scientific studies with Vilnius University and the University of Tartu. The studies focused on how economic incentives motivate students to learn online, and what tools are effective to foster a modern approach to learning digital skills, respectively.
Since the founding of the company, BitDegree has also been actively utilizing Yu-kai Chou’s Octalysis model of gamification in its approach to education.
The Web3 Exam and Missions are a perfect example – according to Stasiulis, they are “gamified and incentive-driven, so that the learning would happen in the background, while you’re having fun”.
Students who score at least 10 points in any of the three (or all three, separately) levels of the Exam will have the opportunity to receive a free NFT Certificate of Completion.
Furthermore, learners who finish at least one level of the Exam by December 27 of this year or February 2, 2024, will gain an exclusive opportunity to participate in Lucky Draw events. The first event is scheduled for January 2024, with a bonus round set for February 2024.
The prize pool for the Lucky Draw is comprised of $500,000 worth of prizes provided by industry-leading BitDegree partners, such as Ledger, CoinStats, BYDFi, and others.
The Exam will still be available after the 2nd of February, but will not provide entries into the Lucky Draw. However, students can also complete Missions, which have separate prize pools of their own.
BitDegree’s current plans include an expansion of the Mission list, the introduction of new Guilds, as well as multiple additional gamification elements.
