Elrond (EGLD) blockchain offers high scalability, speed, and security for distributed apps, new internet economy, and enterprise use cases.

The collaboration will allow Opera crypto wallet users to send and receive Elrond’s native token, EGLD. Moreover, users will be able to use Elrond-based dApps without the requirement of “any third-party browser extensions or wallet applications.” The announcement lists dApps as Maiar Exchange, Knights of Cathena, Age of Zalmoxis, and so on.

When talking about the partnership with Elrond, Crypto Ecosystem Lead at Opera, Susie Batt noted:

The seamless integration of Elrond further expands the wide array of crypto-centric services available to Opera Crypto Browser users. Such interoperability is becoming increasingly important for any project aiming to embrace Web3, and we are excited to have another blockchain partner join us on our mission to accelerate the evolution of the internet.

The Elrond Network CEO Beniamin Mincu shared his excitement about the collaboration on Twitter.

In its tweet, Mincu noted that it is one of the biggest steps the company is taking to approach mass adoption. In the official announcement, Elrond CEO highlighted:

We’re excited to be tapping into Opera’s vast user base to offer them cheaper, faster transactions as well as access to Elrond’s burgeoning dapp ecosystem.

It is yet another adoption implemented by Opera. In March, Opera launched in-browser crypto wallet support for eight blockchains: Solana, Polygon, Celo, Nervos, Ronin, StarkEx, Bitcoin, and IXO. The crypto wallet initially supported only the Ethereum blockchain.
